FAQS
-
Virtuous Nursing Care provides clinical evaluation of ADHD-related concerns within a primary care framework, which may include a comprehensive clinical interview, symptom assessment, relevant medical and developmental history review, screening tools when clinically appropriate, and evaluation of how symptoms may be affecting daily functioning.
Formal neuropsychological or psychological testing is not provided through this practice. If more comprehensive diagnostic testing, specialty psychiatric evaluation, or neuropsychological assessment is clinically indicated, appropriate referral recommendations may be provided.
-
Medication recommendations are determined on an individualized basis following clinical evaluation and only when clinically appropriate.
Stimulant medications are controlled substances and require careful assessment, review of medical and psychiatric history, and ongoing monitoring in accordance with applicable clinical and prescribing standards. An evaluation does notguarantee a stimulant prescription, ADHD diagnosis, or any specific treatment recommendation.
Additional documentation, coordination of care, medical clearance, or follow-up requirements may be necessary depending on the clinical situation.
-
Telehealth can be an effective and convenient option for many ADHD-related concerns, including clinical evaluation, medication management, and follow-up care.
However, telehealth may not be appropriate for every individual or clinical situation. Certain diagnostic concerns, safety considerations, medical complexities, or treatment needs may require in-person evaluation, referral, or a higher level of care.
Patients must be physically located in Minnesota at the time of their appointment, and a secure, appropriate environment must be available to support an effective telehealth visit.
-
ADHD evaluation and treatment services are available for individuals ages 16 and older, including adolescents and adults.
Appropriateness of evaluation or treatment depends on the individual clinical situation, developmental considerations, and whether telehealth-based care is an appropriate fit. If a patient’s needs fall outside the scope of services offered through the practice or would be better supported through a different level of care or specialty service, appropriate referral recommendations may be provided.
